Welcome to Southern Burgundy! At our hotel and restaurant in Mâconnais, where the Mediterranean influence can be felt (the climate is milder than Northern Burgundy), you can discover the many gems of the Saône et Loire including vineyards and spiritual heritage. Just 30 minutes from the hotel, you can visit the Cluny Abbey and the Saint-Philibert Abbey in Tournus. You can't stay with us without visiting the Rock of Solutré (20 minutes from the hotel), a sphinx amongst the Mâconnais vines. This famous prehistoric site is an emblem of Southern Burgundy. Classified as a Grand Site de France, it covers 3 wine appellations: Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-villages. Take the opportunity to visit the cellars and taste some renowned wines.
If you like walking, it takes less than an hour to climb the rock and during clear weather, you can see the Alps. If you prefer a cycling tour, why not try the Green Route and its signposted loops as a family which offer superb views over the Burgundy countryside. Golf lovers will appreciate the Mâcon-la-Salle golf course 10 minutes from the hotel which has an 18-hole course in an exceptional setting.
